We have been broadcasting our teachings from the Bible on handling debt and being a good steward of what God has given us on Blog Talk Radio and Talk Shoe. (The links to the shows are to the right.) We appreciate the listeners and encourage you to continue to visit the program. There is much to talk about relative to finances, as there are about twenty parables in the New Testament which pertain to finances and stewardship, in particular.

I am finding that I am learning much about God’s commandments and promises relative to our finances and just how seriously he wants us to pursue a debt–free living. This has been an issue since the days of the ancient Israelites and in spite of what God has written down in his word, mankind keeps mishandling money and, living beyond their means so that they cannot pay off their debt. Sad to say that it will always be a problem in this world, as long as people refuse to learn the Biblical principles in managing money.

The very fact that God has included twenty parables in the Bible on stewardship shows how important this is to him. If we do not become good stewards of what God has entrusted to us, then God cannot give us more responsibility, more money, more grace, or more possessions. He cannot bless us. This is the reason why some have abundance and some are lacking in their lives.

We can change this and it means taking the initiative to acquire knowledge and wisdom in managing finances according to God’s word. Very few churches give an in depth teaching on managing finances. There are so many topics to cover in a sermon and the pastors have their agenda that they need to cover according to what God has placed on their hearts. We may have to go to experts outside of the church.

In the early days of this country, the early settlers learned how to manage money and run their businesses from the Bible. They learned the knowledge and passed it down through their families. As a result, many of them became wealthy and this wealth has been passed down. It is a fact that many f us will never have wealth, but we can be more prosperous if we begin to use God’s word for managing our money as we do in solving other of life’s problems.

It’s a new year, and why not make a determination to do things differently this year. It could mean having extra retirement money to live on or acquiring a better paying job.

The Campus Crusade for Christ located in Jessore, Bangladesh just had a successful conference on January 1, 201 at the Shimulia Church. Three hundred students attended and participated in discussions, Bible knowledge competitions, praises and worship of the Lord and fellowship. Fbiplob Biswas and his wife Regina led the activities, along with Pastor John Sarker. Thanks to Jesus, forty-five souls were saved.

Approximately one hundred fifty students expressed a need for Bibles. If anyone would like to contribute Bibles, please respond a the bottom of his blog post in the comment section and we will try to coordinate something. Thanks in advance for responding.

The Campus Crusade for Christ ministry is now busy with plans to plant a church. The conference was so successful, that the staff hs decided to hold the conference every year. This is exciting news. Please keep the ministry in prayer and we are accepting donations to help defray costs at the Prospering Christians website. It has been a momentous year with a few surprises. Let’s not forget to thank and praise God for the the wonderful blessings that we have received this year and just to thank him that we are able to enter another year. The Lord is calling us to worship him in Spirit and in truth. If we worship the Lord, we will not put anything in his place.

No longer do we have to go to a special place to worship God as the Israelites did. We have God’s Spirit within us so that we can worship God anywhere we go. This is important for when we are in a place where we cannot get to a place of worship or to music to accompany our worship. We can just worship the Father where we are, (John 4:23,24).

Praising God is good for those who are upright and it brings joy to the heart. When we worship the Lord, we have victory over our enemies. For anyone who is suffering with mourning and gladness, the Lord will lift us up when w praise him. He turns our mourning and gladness into joy.

Praise will confuse the enemy. When we are facing an evil spirit we can praise God and the enemy will flee from us. Many of the problems that we have with not getting our needs met, not getting jobs, or losing our homes can be solved through praise and worship. The enemy cannot handle God’s love. It will defeat him.

Praise and worship are the cure for idolatry. Some of the people around the world have become an idolatrous country. Idolaters worship anything but God. They find solutions to their problems with the things of this world, which they feel give them relief from their problems. But, what they do not understand is that these things only give them temporary relief. God gives us a permanent solution to our feelings of loneliness, or rejection, of persecution, of sorrow, when we turn to him. We have so much for which to be thankful.

Perhaps, this is the reason why only some of us have been blessed with wealth. The more we get, the more we have to praise and worship God. God will bless us with wealth in proportion to our degree of praise and worship. Perhaps this is the reason why God will bless us with harmonious relationships, beautiful surroundings, obedient children, and the best seat in the house because of our degree of worship.

Let’s make a commitment right now to offer more praise and worship to God this new year. Let’s see how our problems will be saved.

We are have had a few responses to the call for supporters, partners, and prayers. We will be working in Bangladesh for the coming year, encouraging the youth, evangelizing, and helping to set up a praise and worship team with instruments to make a joyful noise unto the Lord. We will be establishing a school of worship. As the days approach, I am becoming more and more enthused about going to the conference in Jessore, Bangladesh, where I will be speaking on leadership and using the gifts that God has given us.

We have a tax-free number now and we are accepting donations at the Prospering Christians website. All checks should be made payable to the <Prospering Christians. Plans are underway for other fundraising events in 2012, which will take place on-line and in Rhode Island where the group began.

God has promised that, “But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed,” (James 1:25). The Prospering Christians are planning a mission trip to Bangladesh in December 2011 and we need your support and prayers. We will be ministering to three hundred thirty students at the Campus Crusade for Christ and witnessing to lost souls. Bangladesh is an area which is prone to flooding and as such, the local arhitects, such as Mohamed Rezwan, have undertaken creative measures in an urban renewal plan to help alleviate he problems caused by the flooding. One of the projects includes community life boats, which house libraries and schools equipped with Internet access, solar roofs and solar panels. Approximately 90,000 students are serviced through these boats, which assist them with their educational needs.

Our group will be attending a conference to encourage he students and thn we will witness to lost souls. Anyone interested in attending should contact me at this blog. We need help in ministering to the lost souls, and we need funding to help offset the costs for holding the conference.

Members of the Prospering Christians group are planning a mission trip to Bangladesh to attend a conference of three hundred students at the Campus Crusade for Christ on December 30 and 31, 2011. Many encouraging solutions to Bangladesh’s problems are being solved by creative entrepreneurs. For example, he Ganges Brahmaputra area of Bangladesh is prone to heavy flooding and to alleviate this problem, community life boats, equipped with solar panels, roofs, and Internet access have been constructed to house schools and libraries.

Additionally, busses containing schools can now travel to meet the needs of the children of migrant workers who had to take their children out of school whenever they travelled from job to job.
Our team plans to help Fbipolb Biswas with evangelism and offering encouragement to the students.

They also participate in a monthly prayer and fasting, necessary for growth as a Christian, and various training programs to help bring others to the Lord such as the Muslims and Hindi people. They also spend a significant amount of time preparing themselves to be better vessels for God.

To understand this couple’s plight, it is necessary to examine the populations in Bangladesh. Forty-eight percent of the people are poverty ridden because of the lack of colonial power and natural resources in the area. Many of the people go knocking on doors for a very little bit of food. Food prices are high and natural disasters are frequent..
Many of the people do not have an opportunity to attend schools and the literacy rate is about 50%.

This couple works with as many families as they can, helping them to understand God’s word. There is a need for food, shelter, and for clothing, and training materials for the new converts. It has been about one month that Christian Marketplace and Fellowship was launched. We have several very dynamic Christian book authors who are discussing their books and e-books on the site. Christian Marketplace and Fellowship is a site where Christian authors can offer their books for sale.

Book lovers have the opportunity to engage in discussions with these book authors about their publications. We are very fortunate to have several who have written more than one book. Each book covers an aspect of the life of a Christian which has shaped and formed them as followers of Jesus Christ.

It is rare to be around so many people who have had such rich experiences as these writers and disciples of Christ have. The person who is truly seeking will not be disappointed with what they will find on the site.

The Lord has promised in John 4:14 that “whosoever drinketh of the water that I give him shall never thirst, but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.” He further confirms this in John 7:37 when Jesus says, “If any man thirst, let him come unto me and drink.”

The book lover can register on the site and attend monthly book discussions. All of the books can be purchased directly from the site. I remember when I first became a Christian, I wanted to know so much about the Lord and I had an intense desire to experience him. As I grew deeper and deeper in a relationship with him, I began to experience a joy that I had never known before I came to Christ. The mature Christian will confirm the revelations they have received and will enter into new areas of revelation, for it is impossible to learn everything about Christ and about God in our life time.
