Prosperity is a Promise

God has promised us that if we do certain things, he will prosper us. It is not a right. There are three things that we as Christians must do in order to prosper: 1- Read the Word day and night. Joshua 1:8 says,”This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and thou shalt have good success.”

Today, we have more than the law. We also have the prophets and the New Testament. Even so, this verse and command still applies to us. Reading the word daily will strengthen you, give you wisdom, and help you to overcome the schemes of Satan.

2- Tithe and give to those in need. Tithing insures there will be “meat in mine house.” Malachi 3:10 (KJV).The “meat” is the word and the lessons that we learn through the sermons in church. These serve to give more light and explanation of what we read in the Bible. By tithing, we are showing that we have a love for the Lord.

By giving, we show that we care about those who are in need and God promises that we will have enough for our needs. 2 Corinthians 9:7,8 (KJV) “Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give: not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.” And God is able to make all grace abound toward you: that ye having all-sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work.”

3- Build God’s kingdom. Matthew 6:33 (KJV) – Jesus commanded -“Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you.” This is a promise of prosperity , if we will build God’s kingdom. We can do that by using our gifts to bring God’s message to the unsaved and to serve those who are suffering or who are in need.

Even in this economic climate, God can bring us into prosperity if we abide by His word. With God all things are possible!
