Consider the Children

There are several verses which point to God’s view on how we should treat children:

Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one’s youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate.
(Psalms 127:3-5 ESV)

He gives the barren woman a home, making her the joyous mother of children. Praise the LORD!
(Psalms 113:9 Holy Bible ESV)

Out of the mouth of babes and infants, you have established strength because of your foes, to still the enemy and the avenger.
(Psalms 8:2 ESV)

“See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that in heaven their angels always see the face of my Father who is in heaven.
(Matthew 18:10 ESV)

And they were bringing children to him that he might touch them, and the disciples rebuked them. But when Jesus saw it, he was indignant and said to them, “Let the children come to me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God. Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.” And he took them in his arms and blessed them, laying his hands on them.
(Mark 10:13-16 ESV)

“The wolf shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the young goat, and the calf and the lion and the fattened calf together; and a little child shall lead them.” (Isaiah 11:6 ESV)

It is very clear from these verses that children are to be protected and seen as a blessing from God and woe unto the one who cause them harm. The Lord is very concerned about children. The Bible says that “Satan makes war against the woman and her seed.” We must remember to provide for our children as best we can, and thankfully there are programs for them if we are not able to do that.

Can you imagine what it would be like for Christians if everyone tithed and gave to the poor as they are advised to do according to God’s word. The government would not have to intervene.

But, hopefully we, as Christians, are getting closer and closer to our goal of becoming more financially secure and others are growing up to be mature Christians who can tithe faithfully and be blessed in return.
The children need your prayers. Please continue to pray for them. Thank you and God bless!
